PACEM (People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry) is an interfaith collaboration of congregations in Charlottesville that provides shelter at night during the winter months for people who have nowhere else to sleep.  January 30-February 12, for two weeks UBC will open the Fellowship Hall from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. for 45-55 men to have dinner, take showers, and spend the night.   Click here to see all the ways that you can help.

Special Offering for Haiti

Let us lift up in prayer the people of Haiti, and those who are giving relief efforts there so that suffering might be alleviated and God might be glorified.  Checks may be made to UBC earmarked Haiti, and will be given to the Baptist World Alliance for their Haiti relief efforts.  For more information to:  < http://www.bwanet.org/>

English Classes for Internationals ~ Sunday Mornings, 9:45-10:40 a.m.  All classes are free, but pre-registration is helpful for new students, either by calling University Baptist Church at 293-5106 or by emailing <tleland@universitybaptist.org>.  Child care provided. (see index at left).

Prayer Shawl Ministry ~ Come join us in this caring ministry.  We will quilt, knit, and crochet prayer shawls or lap robes to be distributed to church members and friends who need to be comforted and reminded that the people of UBC care for them in a time of need.  If you have cotton quilt fabrics or yarn that you would like to donate to this ministry, a collection box will be located in the Fellowship Hall.  If you would like to learn to quilt, knit, or crochet come and join us.  For more information call Anne Keith 295-7822 or Sarah Buchanan 872-9422 (see WMU in index at left).  Next meeting:  Tues.
