Our next Jazz Vespers service will be in the Sanctuary on April 10, 5:30 pm. Our musicians for the evening will be Bobby Gregg on saxophone, Eric Franzen on piano, Joseph Nichols on bass, and Ben Eisenberg on drums. This is a fun evening with some standard jazz music as well as some jazz renditions of traditional hymns. The Virginia Belles is the University of Virginia’s oldest all-female a cappella group. The group was established in 1977 by Katherine Mitchell as the female counterpart to the Virginia Gentlemen. The Belles perform an eclectic range of vocal music from oldies and classic rock to indie and R&B. Their spring concert is in the University Baptist Church Sanctuary on Saturday, April 11, 7:00 pm. Radio Music Society is a string-based music ensemble that specializes in playing modern pop music—anything that can be heard on the radio can be heard from their instruments. Their mission is to bring string music to the masses at the University of Virginia and the Charlottesville area.
